MORE than 70 people turned out to celebrate the Dick Hambidge 90th Memorial in Westgate at the weekend.Dick, a well-known history buff who often provided stories for the Thanet Gazette's The way we were, passed away five years ago but daughter-in-law Lorraine wanted to mark the day and raise money for Westgate-on-sea's Community Centre building fund.Among the guests were six VIPs who were all 90-year-olds from Westgate schools St Saviours or King Ethelbert's, and friends of Dick.The family have...
