Less than a month after the Courier published a front-page story on littering in the town's rivers, council chiefs have announced a joint clean-up of the Medway.
The spruce-up of the river will take place next Wednesday, July 13 at 7pm, starting from Bewley's Weir on the river walk.
A Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council spokesman said: "The clean-up has been arranged in response to recent reports of a number of abandoned supermarket trollies at several locations on the river.
