Police had to act fast this afternoon when they saw two dogs sweltering in a car parked in the town centre in Tonbridge. Officers desperately tried to find the owner of the car. But they became so concerned for the dogs' welfare, they smashed the window to get the pair out. The dogs were looked after at the police kennels until officers were able to locate the owners. Kent Police said it would be passing details of the incident on to the RSPCA.
