A pub in Ticehurst has been silenced by a High Court judge who slapped a music ban on its proprietor after Bastille tracks were heard on the premises.
The decision serves as a sharp warning from music licence organisation Phonographic Performance Ltd (PPL) to other pubs, clubs and venues in the area where music is played publicly.
Nicholas Twaite, trading as The Cherry Tree Inn, at Dale Hill, was caught playing recorded copyrighted tracks at the pub without a PPL licence.
