The folding doors of the old fire station in Crowborough High Street closed for the last time in 1964 when a new building was opened in Beacon Road.Since then the old fire station has been used for many purposes – a carpet shop, a wine bar, a furniture shop. Now it is once more on the market.But the building remains essentially the same as when it was opened in 1905, and it is still very much a feature of the town's main thoroughfare.
