The number of centenarians in the UK has quadrupled over the last 30 years, according to official statistics.Figures revealed there were 14,450 people over the age of 100 last year and 780 people aged 105 or older, compared to 120 in 1984.The Office of National Statistics said the record high is due to better diets and exercise with a 72 per cent jump in the number of centenarians in the last 10 years.There were also 550,810 people aged 90 or older.The UK has the seventh highest number of...
